Please wait for User Profile Service - Disable background user hive upload task succeeded. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've been experiencing very slow logins for one particular AD user.
The User Profile Service operational log shows that the task called "Disable background user hive upload task" takes over three minutes to complete.

This only happens for this one user. Usually the login process takes about 5 seconds and "Disabling background user hive upload" takes 0 seconds.
I deleted the user's profile and had Windows recreate it again, but the exact same problem occurs.

Time 0:00 -- Event ID  1: Received user logon notification on session 2.

Time 0:00 -- Event ID  6: Starting synchronize profile from \\...\..\..\<profile>.v2 to C:\users\<profile>

Time 0:01 -- Event ID  7: Finished Synchronize profile  from \\...\..\..\<profile>.v2 (Result: The operation completed successfully)

Time 0:01 -- Event ID  5: Registry file C:\Users\username\ntuser.dat is loaded at HKU\S-1-5-21-2570627339-595396017-2782738742-400268.

Time 0:02 -- Event ID  5: Registry file C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\\UsrClass.dat is loaded at HKU\S-1-5-21-2570627339-595396017-2782738742-400268_Classes.

Time 3:31 -- Event ID 59: Disable background user hive upload task succeeded.

Time 3:31 -- Event ID  2: Finished processing user logon notification on session 2.

Any idea why disabling the backgroung user hive takes over 3 minutes ?

    Thanks.

  • Did you ever get this figured out?  I am seeing the exact same thing here - only on a select number of vm devices though, no physical devices.
