Can no longer access network share after Windows 10 2004 update RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

My system updated to version 2004, and since then, I can no longer access a mapped drive on my WD NAS. Nor can I access the NAS via IP address.  My machines that are still on 1909 don't have this problem.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • Disregard this.  The 2004 update disabled SMB for some silly reason.  Re-enabling SMB solved the issue

  • Do you perhaps mean: disabled SMB 1.0? It does of course not disable current SMB versions.

Why don't you update your NAS to support at least SMB 2?

  • Hmm, after investigating further, the NAS supports up to SMB3, but for some reason I can't access it without enabling SMB1 on Win 10.  I'll take it up with Western Digital. Obviously not a W10 issue.
