Create new user: Description is set in AD but not Full Name RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Last night when I connected a new machine to my Essentials server I noticed that my user's display name was not coming in Windows 8 on login, stayed as the alias. I found that when the Essentials dashboard creates a user, it puts what should be the First/Last Full Name into the Description property of the user in Active Directory where it should be putting this value into the Full Name property. Moved the value from Description to Full Name for my users and now Windows 8 login display names are as expected. Seems like a bug.
