Question

Hi - I recently upgraded in our test environemnt from SoftGrid 4.1.3.16 to 4.5.1.15580. The upgrade process itself appeared to run fine. However, the service refuses to start. I get the following entries in System and Application log:
The Application Virtualization Management Server service terminated with service-specific error 268480357 (0x1000AF65).
System dispatcher initialization error [-1]. System dispatcher startup will stop.
and in the sft-server.log
[2009-03-27 08:29:32.280] - 2640 2624 SW_MessageHandler::Open - - - - 5 65535 "Initialization complete."
[2009-03-27 08:29:32.296] SGD-TEST-UPG 2640 2624 SW_SystemDispatcher::init - - - - 1 44901 "System dispatcher initialization error [-1]. System dispatcher startup will stop.
"
[2009-03-27 08:29:32.296] SGD-TEST-UPG 2640 2624 SW_SystemDispatcher::fini - - - - 0 44952 "Successfully shut down Microsoft System Center Application Virtualization Management Server Version 4.5.1.15580 (2640)
"
[2009-03-27 08:29:32.296] SGD-TEST-UPG 2640 2572 SW_MessageHandler::Close - - - - 5 65535 "Shutdown complete."
I read a post in the Beta forum reagrding SQL but rhere is no mention of any SQL problems.
I'm not really sure what else to try. Has anybody got any ideas?

Hello,
If you have a service-account configured to start the service I would remove it.
Can't remember if it should be SYSTEM or NETWORK as default context though, but I am assuming that you can read this in the documentation somewhere.

I don't use a ServiceAccount and I have tried both Network Service and Local System - both produce the same results.Friday, March 27, 2009 9:45 AM

Hello,
Well I googled and found this;
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/appvbeta/thread/8855ce48-7a3d-4cf0-ba4f-7bc2845a5ecf/
Then I am out...
Even though you dont have a sql-error in the log I would verify the settings for it....

Yeah, I already went through this post and unfortunately it hasn't resolved it.
