Cannot adjust Screen Brightness RRS feed

  • Question

  • After installing Windows 8.1, the brightness of my laptop screen is very low and I cannot adjust the screen brightness. I have tried updating the driver for Intel Graphics, and it hasn't solved the problem. From reading other threads, people are having the same problem, and upgrading or reinstalling the driver isn't making a difference.

Is there a bug with Windows 8.1 that needs to be fixed? I'd appreciate if you have any advice in fixing this problem, as it's becoming a problem looking at such a dull screen.

    Many thanks.

  • Hi

According to your description, I would like to confirm if the issue is related to Graphics driver.

Please change to Microsoft  Basic Display Adapters and see if it makes any difference:

Open Control Panel > Device Manager > Display Adapters > Intel HD Graphics 4000>Update driver software>Browse my computer for driver software>Let me pick from a list of devices on my computer.

If it doesn't work, please try the different ones to see if any change.
