remove freeprizegroup pop up window RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a user (with XP, 64 bit) who has been getting this pop up message in Firefox for the last week or so. I did a search and it seems to come from freeprizegroup.com, but I can't find anything on removing it. Any ideas on how I can make it go away?

    Thanks,

    Linda

  • It's some sort of spyware, malware infection on your browser.  You say they are getting this message in Firefox but the message itself says Microsoft Internet Explorer.  Are you getting this on both IE and Firefox?

Go to both IE and Firefox addins and see if you see this freeprizegroup.com or something similar and uninstall it.

  • Sir, try to Full Scan your Computer with Microsoft Security Essentials : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security_essentials/default.aspx

After that add the  freeprizegroup.com  to Blocked website in Internet Explorer.

  • After doing a full scan with MSE and SuperAntiSpyware, the pop up window hasn't reappeared. I blocked freeprizegroup.com from our firewall. Thanks for your help.
