Windows 7 takes 10 Minutes to shutdown RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Windows 7 machines are built through SCCM 2012 and use a fully patched Windows 7 .wim file.

Here is the issue I am having. Everytime I go to reboot the machine or shut down it hangs for 10 minutes with the Windows 7 background. It does not hang at a shutdown prompt just hangs with the Windows 7 background. I have turned on Verbose messages and didn't see any issues because it hangs up even before the shutdown process.

Here is what I see on the logs.

The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> is taking long time to handle the notification event (EndShell).

The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> took 600 second(s) to handle the notification event (EndShell).
