upgrade WSUS server version RRS feed

  • Our current version of WSUS is 6.3.9600.17477 on Server 2012r2.  Is there a way to update to the latest version of WSUS?  I have seen mentions of version 6.3.9600.18324.  We have all the latest updates installed.  Are we just missing an update that I haven't been able to find?

    You may install KB3095113 and KB3159706 to upgrade your WSUS server. Note, don't forget to do manual steps in KB3159706 to finish the installation.

  • Both of those updates are installed and we did the manual step to finish the installation of KB3159706 but we still have the same version of WSUS.  Just to make sure we are looking in the right spot for the version is this the correct area in the registry to find out which version is installed?

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Update Services\Server\Setup\VersionString

  • We checked the files that were supposed to be updated and everything looks like it updated but we are still not getting the correct version when you look in the WSUS console.  We just decided to forget trying to get the console to match the files but if there might be some ideas we are certainly willing to try them out.

  • the WSUS console overview/summary screen, in the section named 'Connection' (boxed) , is the best method for checking version
