How to Enable Content Advisory in IE11 on a Windows 10 Professional build 1607 or higher RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are trying to create an image for our Windows 10 Professional Workstations that will use IE11 with the Content Advisory button enabled. We had no problem with previous versions of Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows 10 Professional prior to build 1607 and above. We are already aware that the GPO to enable the policy for Content Advisory is no longer supported once you are running build 1607, but we need either a workaround or another method to enable the Content Advisory for IE11. Please note that the application we are using currently must run on IE11 and not Microsoft Edge. Please advise. Thank you Phil Isaacson   The PCs are in a workgroup not a domain.

  • Hi,

what application are you running on IE11/Win10? Have you checked with the vendor for updates for their software?

If you have a MSDN subscription you could download a Win10 ISO image from MSDN subscriptions that does not include those updates.

  • The app is a webhosted healthcare site.  They have optimized for IE11.  If you use other browsers you get report formatting issues, etc..

We are looking at assigning a dummy proxy server and allowing only our approved sites and are testing this option.

    Thanks for your response.
