How to Track Changes in Subprojects within a Master Project RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

How do I track changes to subproject files that are managed separately in a Master project. E.g Project A, B & C are part of a Master Project. This is a dynamic read only consolidated Master Project with all 3 subprojects. How can I track date (start or finish) or effort made to the subprojects whenever I view the master projects? Owners of the subprojects updates their files weekly.  Any insight or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well, there is no way to track these changes unless the project managers of projects A, B, and C saved a baseline in their projects.  If they DID save a baseline, you can apply the Tracking Gantt view to determine if the schedule of any task or subproject is slipping.  You can also individually apply the Variance, Work, and Cost tables to analyze schedule variance, work variance, and cost variance for individual tasks and subproject as well.  Hope this helps.
