Skype for Business on-premise users couldn't send IM to Skype for Desktop users RRS feed

  • Dear Sir,

    I have installed Skype for Business 2015 on-premise 3 Servers (Front End, Database and Edge), i can search for any Skype User and can add it to my list (account appear with Presence Unknown), once i tried to chat with it, i am receiving " The action couldn't be completed, please try again later".

    From my Skype for Desktop, i can add my Skype for business account but it says it is offline all the time , but actually it is not.

    could you help me to solve this issue.

  • Hey Hi !!

    Here you are trying to achieve to establish the federation between Skype for Business server and Skype for Consumer (Basically Skype Connectivity Configuration with On-Premise Skype for Business 2015).

    You need to configure the Skype connectivity in your topology, configure the public provider and request Microsoft to add your SIP domain into their allowed list.

  • Hi Mohamed,

     

    Did you configure federation feature in your topology? Please kindly note that federation is one of the features of Skype for Business which serves as an agreement between different organizations to contact via Skype for Business.

    Please try configuring federation if you haven’t done it. You could refer to the following URL for the details on deploying Skype Connectivity.

    After you configure federation in your server, please make sure to add your Skype partner as the following screenshot method. And your Skype partners need to accept your request of adding friend from their side.

    After that, please try again to contact with your Skype account. Please feel free to let me know if it still can’t work. Thanks!
