Remove failed node RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    1. In our 2 node setup of AD RMS, we lost one of the node, and need to remove now, I cannot find any documentation how  to do it. I cannot find a record in the AD about that node, and I guess it should be saved on SQL database. Is there any link about removing a failed node, or any hint that might help us.

    2. After the  mess made with the failed node, some protected documents are opening very slow for some users, while for the owner, those are opening normally. Is there anything I can check to fix it?

    Thank you

I'm used the method Ryan describes on his site http://blogs.msmvps.com/virtualreality/2009/03/26/how-to-remove-crashed-dead-ad-rms-nodes-from-the-cluster/.

    thanks

  • Hi,

Thank you for the reply. However, I'm not able to find Rights Management Services Administration Toolkit. Any idea where to find it, or another tool replacing it?

    Thank you

  • hmm, wonder why they removed it. I see the Azure version of the tool but don't believe that one will work. They have a Rights Management Services Analyzer Tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=46437) Not sure if that replaced it. I still have a copy i can possibly upload to a file share site if you want to try it.

    thanks

  • You can make the changes in SQL Management studio as well. That tool just makes it easier.
