Noticeable network lag with AppV IE/Java Plugin application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I'm running into an odd issue with a new AppV application that we've made to run a customized IE session with a Java plug-in (Java 6u32) we've been using this application internally for a few months and it's been running fine.

Now we are rolling the application out to remote sites that admittedly don't have the fastest connections. We are doing the install of the application as a local Global install so no streaming or anything of that nature.

But when opening this AppV IE session with Java there is a noticeable lag to opening intranet pages and the specific Java app in question. Immediately close the AppV IE window and open a regular IE window and the lag is significantly reduced.

I even ran a wire shark capture to compare the two. IE opening our intranet homepage and logging into the said app and then closing the window came out to 1541 packets of data. Same process using the AppV IE generated 5426 packets.

Does any one know why a sequenced Java 6u32 with IE customizations would generate so much overhead in it's network connection?

  • Please run Process Monitor against this, perhaps there will be a noticeable trace that's taking a long time to hit a 'success' state.
