windowsxp disk partitioning on acer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I am using an acer..aspire5532 and have it partitioned. Drive C: has 136 GB and Drive D: has 12 GB. My problem is this; I have a copy of windows xp on the D Drive and to do updates and store "stuff" on this drive I'd like to know how to expand space or adjust the partition. I get messages stating I have low disk space periodically. Thanks for any help.

  • You could defrag the 136 GB volume. Shrink the 136Gb volume and than expand the 12 GB volume.

Unfortuntly with Windows XP, this requires some command line tools or the use of something like partition magic.

Unless you would consider your self and advanced user I wouldnt track down this path.

I would say backup all your files on to an external HDD. put in your win XP disc, delete all the partitions on your HDD and create one partition and install windows.
