Migration/cut-over from LCS 2005 to Sky for Business RRS feed

    Hi All,

    in this week I'm working with this topic.

    I have a forest 2008 R2 with LCS server 2005 deployed.(functional level 2003) Now we want change and adopt S4B.

    I know that exist a support path LCS --> OCS 2007 --> Lync 2013 --> S4B but we want follow a cut-over migration.

    Can we update the AD schema and install S4B in the same forest, disable LCS user and enable in new S4B infrastructure and after user migration, decommission the old LCS 2005 server?

    Are there contraindications or issue about schema update or in general for the cut-over process? What about the autoconfiguration for the new client in coexistence with the old system if we decide to migrate a few users for time?

    This migration path is not supported. Normal you have to decommissioning the LCS 2005 before.

    If you update the schema, it could be that LCS2005 will no longer work!
