Deliver and Install SCCM 2012 Endpoint protection for clients RRS feed

  • Question

  • In some cases on the server's that I have the SCCM 2012 client installed, they do not have the System Center Endpoint protection installed.

How do I accomplish that from the push down perspective on the server? I thought that by default it will install the Endpoint protection client.

Also is there a way to just specify one machine and have this endpoint client pushed down to it?  Not sure if I would have to, but it would be good to know if someone requests to have the Endpoint client installed asap. Preferably without doing it manually on the client.

  • The Endpoint Protection client is installed if and only if you have enabled it in your client settings. The only exception to this is on the site system/server that is hosting the EP role; this system will have the client installed automatically so that it can download signatures.

  • Check that the servers that you wan't the endpoint client to, really is in the targeted collections. I have in some cases, deployed Endpoint Client Settings to a "Server2008 R2" collection, and then the Server 2008, won't get it, i also noticed that my 2012 servers didn't get the endpoint, since i had not added them.

  • Since SCCM 2012 is a bit new to me.

Would you mind please describing where to check the client settings and where to look for them? Is it on the a setting on the SCCM server collection?
