DPM disaster recovery or DPM2DPM RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am triying to setup a DPM2DPM topology with 2 main sites

Site1 and Site2 are in different domains with trust relationships between them.

Site 3 will be used to backup up site1 and site2 dpm data.

What options do I have in order to fully protect Site 1 and site 2?

  • to ensure that you can always use DPM i would keep a domain controller from site1 and site2 placed in site3 as well as a dpm server for each domain protecting all data with the dpm to dpm backup.

this will keep the design as simple as possible and enable you to recover even with loss of both sites

  • FlemmingRiis's suggestion was a good one. Adding to this another option would be to do BMR backup's of all of your domain controllers
