SQL Discovery on XP & win 7 clients RRS feed

    Hi All,

    So the question is how to run discovery and then monitoring of SQL Excpress DB on Windows Clients ie. XP and Win 7 machines. Is there a way I can change discovery into including the clients, do I have to create a new MP... as I'm a newbe I hope last mentioned isn't the answer. I'm running SCE 2010 and all clients have agents installed + no errors in eventlog so every thing is working 100% except for the SQL issue. Thanks in advance!

    The SQL DB engine discovery (for all versions) is targeted at Windows Server. You'll need to roll your own.

    Hi Andy,

    I've gatherd so much, as said I'm a newbe... how would I go about doing this, can I modify the current on for servers to do win7? Ir is something that'll have to do from scratch? Surely there must be others that's done this in the past, I can't be the first one?!
