incoming call RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi! I've blocked the user from using the common area polycom phone to make international IDD call. This is done through the voice policy and allow them to call only local/National number range.

At the same time, I also noticed that this will have the same effect on incoming call. with these settings, only the dial string I specified in the voice policy/route/pstn is allowed for incoming call.

Is there anyway I can configure it to receive any incoming call, but restrict on the outgoing call only?

    Thanks.

  • ok, the dial plan is only used for the normalization for the lync user.

Incomming calls can only be restricted by the pstn usaeg on the trunk configuration (voice Features)

If you don't have assigned a pstnusage to a trunk, no restriction for incomming calls should be applied.

Run a trace on your mediationserver for incomming calls, S4, Sipstach to see why the user could not be reached.

  • Do you have also some pstn usage assigned to the trunk?

Because incoming calls will only be resricted if the pstn usage is assigned directly to a trunk.

  • Hi Voicenewbie,

Please go to user's Dial Plan and add the normalization rule that transfer international number and test the issue again.

  • hi! we share the same dial plan for all the policies. There is no restriction on where the user can call in the dial plan. All the numbers will be converted to E164.
