VLAN IP created inside RHEL6.6 is not accessible from any other machine on same network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I created a setup in which one RHEL6.6 VM is created on Windows server 2012 R2 Hyper-V.

I created 2 VLAN inside RHEL6.6 as i wanted this VM to be accessible across different network. But IP assigned to VLAN is not accessible.

External switch settings are correct. Switch port connected to Hyper-V NIC is in trunk mode. (Please refer below link for external Switch setting and for vlan setting in RHEL6.6)

    1. IP assigned to RHEL6.6 network adapter is accessible from client before doing any VLAN setting
    2. IP assigned to RHEL6.6 network adapter is accessible after doing vlan setting on external switch level and virtual network adapter level.
    3. As soon as i create VLAN inside RHEL6.6 VM, IP assigned to VLAN gets inaccesible.
    4. I set network adapter of RHEL6.6 in trunk mode but still not accessible.

Can you please tell me what setting i am missing? Or is it even possible to do what i am trying to do?
