Addin removal issue from menu of Microsoft Word RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've installed an application knowledge center which installs word addin.

After uninstalling this application the add-in is still visible in the menu of Microsoft word.

If we check the Help>option-->addin then from that part add-in is removed but in the Addin-menu it is still visible as shown in above image. Note No file or registry is remaining after uninstallation.

In some forum it has been mentioned to remove normal.dotm file; but I cannot delete the normal.dotm file because if any other application is installing word-in then that add-in will get effected.

Hence do you have any other solution?

  • If you right-click on the toolbar you can choose the option "Delete custom toolbar". You'll get the warning that it is irreversible but that is probably what you want. If the toolbar comes from a normal.dotm, you probably have to open the normal.dotm exclusively and delete the toolbar there.

  • This is manual procedure.

Is there any other way to remove these entries i.e. via some script like batch script or vbscript?
