Please don't redirect old inside-r.org pages to https://mran.microsoft.com/ RRS feed

  • Question

  • One yucky thing about MS buying out Revolution, etc. is that all the useful pages that were indexed by Google now have become useless redirects.

    For example:

    http://www.inside-r.org/node/232589

redirects to the far less useful:

    https://mran.microsoft.com/

for inside-r.org, there are about 400K pages indexed.

Can anybody fix this?!?  (e.g. make them redirect to the appropriate corresponding pages on mran?)

  • I created a blog post with links to alternatives to resources that were on inside-r.org.

I'm sure the Google indexes will resolve themselves in time, and such searches will find equivalent pages on rdocumentation.org. We don't have any control over Google's search engine, though.

  • Wouldn't this have done it?

Change page URLs with 301 redirects
