Exchange 2010 Edge Server network card RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I will install TMG with 3 Leg in which Exchange Edge will also be reside in the 3rd leg which is DMZ. Do i need two network cards on the Edge server one for the DMZ and one for the internal or only one network card for DMZ is enough.

If there will be two network cards then which rules do i have to create in the TMG as the TMG is the one who will send email to HUB and will receive email from outside

if there will one network card then which rules do i have to create in the TMG.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

I would create a new thread to Microsoft TMG forum to inquiry the detailed steps about how to create the specific rule:

    Thanks,

  • Two network card for the Exchange 2010 Edge role. You only need one rule to send/receive SMTP traffic to/from Exchange Edge (DMZ interface) to / from External network.

The internal facing network card of the Exchange Edge role will be used to send/ receive SMTP traffic from Exchange HUB role. Also you can manually configure the connectors or use the Edge Sync.

    Hope that helps.
