StyleXP causes problem "Windows explorer has stopped working" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

First of all i dont think vista is flop or bugged Its more users doing things wrong and running into lots of problems.

I upgraded my system from windows media centre to windows vista ultimate and any startmenu that uses "explorer" feature does not seem to work. The problem is caused i think because of "Stylexp" used to change the look and feel of windows xp which i had installed on XP. and i think the menus or path have messed up. So if i try to run "control panel" or add remove program or my computer or i try to run "c:\" from run prompt it will always give me same error that windows explorer has stopped working.

Can anyone recommend a fix to it?

I would strongly recommend that Microsoft state in the upgrade of OS that any type of theme related software should be uninstalled before upgrading to VISTA

Any help will be much appreciated

    Thanks in advance
