Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried to setup a ASP.NET 2.0 application to connect to the Briefing Book Server via the Web Service (http://<servername>/PAS/PStore.asp?WSDL.  I am able to find the web service and add it to my .NET project.  However, when I try to use the web service, I recieve the URI error.  I have named the service ProclarityWS.  Here is the logic I'm using and the code fails on the line below:

    ProclarityWS.PStore service = new ProclarityWS.PStore();

    Why am I receiving this error and what do I need to do to correct it.  I am running proclarity web standard and the webservice locally on my laptop.

    Thanks

  • Good Afternoon.

    When you utilize the web service are you able to pull up the XML by navigating to that URL in IE?  I'm trying to make sure you get all of the definition XML for the WSDL before we move on to the next step.

    Also, would it be possible to post your entire page of code?  This would give us a better idea of what you are trying to do, and possibly reproduce.

    Thanks.

  • I am able to get XML response when accessing http://servername/pas/PStore.asp?wsdl in the browser, as well as in PBSLib.discomap (PBSLib.wsdl) object.

    However when instantiating myObj = new ProclarityWS.PStore();

    I get Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined

    I saw code

    myObj = new PStore(serviceUri.AbsoluteUri);

    however this gives an error of PStore not taking any arguments...

    Thank you

  • Try updating the appsettings in the web.config as below:

    http://servername/pas/PStore.asp

    I had the same problem and changed the correct appsetting to just the asp page.
