Where to install SharePoint services 3

I need to install SharePoint services 3. I have two servers, one with windows server 2008 installed with domain controller, active directory and users data, and the other server with SBS 2003 server, ISA 2004 and GFI web monitoring. (SharePoint services v2 is NOT INSTALLED on this server).

Where is the appropriate server to install Sharepoint. I am new to the concept and I have to try the WSS first in our office of 20 employees.

I also need to know if WSS would be sufficient for a small business environment or should I install office sharepoint or other applications.

Hi Noranaj,

It is not recommended that the WSS 3.0 is installed on DC, there are some issues you need to consider, refer this article.

From your description, it seems that the second server is installed SBS 2003, if you install Windows SharePoint Service 3.0 on it, you can check this article.

There are some differences between WSS 3.0 and SharePoint 2007, you can select which is right for you based on the required features, check the following articles.
