  • This is a Group Policy forum, so you may get better help in an Office 20xx forum.  In my case, I don't know much about Office products, but if you wanted to copy the template files to the clients via GPO this would be correct spot.

Sounds like you want a different default template location for Office Products.

  • per-user (personal) template are located there, but, shared/company/corporate/common/workgroup templates, have a setting for that purpose.

This setting is available since Office97, from memory, and is still available in Office2016.

It is Office-versions-specific, since it resides @ HKCU\software\policies\microsoft\office\<OFFICEVERSION>\common\general

NB: the GPSearch tool can be clunky sometimes. To be certain, check the ADMX templates for your scenario.

Don [doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that ;]

  • Hi.

Appdata folder is the roaming folder which is moving together with user profile. It's not changeable by group Policy. Only if to redirect the user profile to another drive then this folder with included folders will move automatically.

But to change the exactly the office template folder you need to do it as explained in this link
