EX07: Appointments changing ownership RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have started to see a few users encounter a different situation. Where UserA sends out a recurring appointment and UserB (who is a regular member) somehow becomes the organizer of this meeting. So they are able to send out updates for this appointment.

With the test user I checked with that is having this issue he is now the owner of at least 4 meetings from different originators.

I dont really know where to start with troubleshooting to narrow down the root cause of this issue.

We are running Exchange 2007 and on the client we have Vista using Outlook 2007.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hello Martina,

I am continuing to read the article, but it appears that is the probelem we are facing, we are still on SP2 and will be upgrading to SP3 and at least Roll up 4 or 5 in a couple of weeks. In our environment we do have a mixture of iPhones and Droids.

I am wondering how did you find this or know about this issue. Is there a mailing list I can get on etc. I did alot of searching and couldnt find anything on this.

  • Hi Keith,
I think I first read about this problem in this forum and just saved the KB for reference. I have had many customers with this problem and even if some symptons says it's for Exchange 2010 you should expect that they can turn up in Exchange 2007 as well (and vice versa).

I also think http://kbalertz.com/ is pretty good.

  • Great, and in your experience installing SP3 with the RU4 patch has resolved these for your customers as expected?

I have marked your first reply as the Answer and thanks again!

  • Your welcome!

Yes, beeing on the latest SP and RU-level + upgrading the software on the phones solved the problem.
