I have tried to create a dvd compilation of MPEG-2 format files recorded on my JVC Everio camcorder.
The videos import perfectly fine into dvd maker, the preview is ok, and I burn.
Problem 1. Transcode. It takes about 3-4 hours to transcode 1 hour of video. Ouch. No option to disable this.
Problem 2. Video transcode quality. On 1 PC, the video is just shredded, it looks like the scanlines are all jumbled, it's a horrible mess. On another PC the video is actually recognizeable, but the colors are really messed up, not quite inverted, but close.
What I don't understand is the menus that the program creates with mini-versions of some of the movies are perfect.
Is DVD Maker a hopeless piece of garbage software? Should I just forget about it and try something else?
