Local Admin Password Change

    Question

  • Hi Everyone,

I'm stuck in such a critical issue and not finding out the way to get that resolve. Actually after the patch update (MS14-025) I'm unable to change password of the local admin accounts of user's PC through GPO. Is there any way or any alternate solution of this problem?

  • Hi

You can use LAPS to change local admin passwords,

  • Previously, it was possible to do it by GPO but this is not working anymore for security reasons. As mentioned, you can use LAPS and it will make each server has its own password and stored in AD. You can then delegate access to the attribute storing the password to authorized persons.
