Sharepoint 2007 - email list to users

I have a list of tasks / actions assigned to users, I want to be able to send a snapshot of a view of this list in the body of an email to a distribution list.

I cant seem to find a way of doing this directly from sharepoint, but there appear to be a host of options, i.e. link to an excel file, manipluate this and email, or link to some other MS or 3rd party application.

Has anyone got experience of resolving a similar issue?

I do not want to have to install anything server side, but could install someone on my laptops or another project admins device.

Personally, I hate it when people send me a picture, a duplicate of the list, or any other facimile of the list to me in any form of email. Think about it... the second you send it, it becomes outdated and obsolete. Any of the data can immediately change, so what you've emailed becomes yesterday's news. STALE!

Then people start sending emails around based on it, when it may not be relevant.

Sorry, but it's just a bad idea, and goes against what SharePoint is all about. Send them a link to the list, and tell them to look at it, and consume it as needed. If they need to be reminded constantly to do this, then they just need to be fired and replaced with someone that can handle it. This is the way we do business, and failing to follow the protocol is ground for termination with cause.

I don't disagree with Steve's comments but will offer a few other options. I will add that it is unlikely that you will find an "out of the box" solution for this. We done similar using html tables and/or InfoPath via a custom workflow. We have also accomplished similar using a custom Workflow Action that would produce a snapshot and send it via email.
