outlook 16 not connecting RRS feed

  • I have been using Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010, 1013 successively to connect to 4 email accounts with no problems.

    I have just upgraded to Outlook 2016 and after several days of trying and resetting i am still totally unable to get it to connect to either btinternet.com or gmail,com, neither imap nor pop3 settings work.

    the servers constantly reject outlooks attempts.  

    Help please

    Are there any error messages? Do you mean that you cannot add accounts to Outlook client or Outlook show "Disconnected” in the status bar?

    Normally, we can still use the original profile after upgrading Office. Do you create a new profile?

    Please first refer to the settings in this official article to see if you configured POP accounts correctly.

    Besides, we can try opening Outlook in safe mode to see if the issue continues. Please exit Outlook, press Win key + R to open the Run command, type outlook.exe /safe and then press Enter. This helps eliminate whether the problem lies on any third party add-ins.

    If issue persists, please create a new profile to test the result.
