Windows 7 Logoff "The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff)." User is never logged off. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • While I have read the threads here in this forum and many other forums, the solutions I have found deal with the logon process. My issue is durring the logoff process. A user will logoff and some times there are no issues other times it will take over twenty minutes. Then we have the times were the user leaves the computer on the logoff screen with the circle image spinning coming in the next day with the same screen displayed.

    OS: WIN7 64-BIT
    Roaming profile (Small in size)
IP6 disabled on both the server and the workstation.
    No logoff scripts

I have seen mentions of the following,

disabling the System Event Notification Service, but that doesn't sit well with me.
Enable run logon scripts synchonously, this does not apply the issue is happening at logoff.
    disable IP6
    disable antivirus
The event describers need to be installed

    Still the issue remains.

Can some one provide some help?

    Thanks,

    Paul
