Shared mailbox folders suddenly collapsing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

My users use outlook 2016 home and business. few users have reported that the two shared mailboxes they have access to suddenly collapse all the sub folders. It happens randomly that when they try to open a folder and navigate sub folders in those shared mailboxes, all the subfolders collapse.

  • Hi Steve,

I was able to fix this by sorting from A to Z. i was testing on my profile and the folders were rearranging continuously.

then i did sort and all was good

  • Hi,

Is there any new email arriving in the shared mailbox when the subfolders collapse?

How often does this issue happen? Does this issue continue if try starting Outlook in safe mode? To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter.

Besides, you may also try moving the Inbox folder in the folder structure underneath another folder such as Drafts or Sent Items and then moving it back again. This method helped some users who encountered a similar issue.

  • Hi Steve

it happens for multiple users and only for two mailboxes. ealier it was automapped. I added the mailbox with password as a second account and noticed he folders were rearranging themselves very fast only for these two

then i chose the mailbox and sort A to Z. not sure if this has fixed it. i will observe. but need to know what is happening.

it happens to users when they try to expand folders or move one item to a folder. it suddenly collapses whole mailbox.

Does this issue continue when sorting the folders in A to Z order?
