Firefox 5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • On both our UAG servers, the W3WP.exe max's out the memory on the server within a 24hrs of the server being started. Once the physical memory max out, the page file becomes full then the CPU starts to run at 99% until the server finally grinds to a stop.

Debugging the process when its at 2gb,  I can see multiple enteries relating to Firefox 5

    Host: xxxxxxxx

     Referer: https://xxxxxxxx/mytools/Pages/default.aspx

    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0

As this started a few weeks ago (after Firefox 5 release) with the above information in the W3WP.exe process, I presume this is the cause of the issue.

Has anybody else experiened issues with UAG and Firefox 5?

  • Hi JARR,

If your saying FireFox 5 can bring down a UAG server, then thats a terrible thing!  I hope its a concidence but I can safely say, yes we have heard of issues with W3WP running at 90%+ but I dont think thats related to FireFox.

Please open a support case with Microsoft so that they can track this issue.

    Thank you
    Dennis Lee
