Cannot integrate Office 365 into Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Currently on SBS 2003 and just migrated all email to office 365 a month ago (new office 365 account).  Next step was the new server...  Setup using Windows 2012 Essentials R2 and got it running last night however I can't get it to Integrate with Office 365.  I get "unknown error, make sure you're connected to the internet..."  I haven't added users to the server yet as I figured you could just import them from Office 365??  I've also checked our Sharepoint Sites (per Susan Bradley) and the Titles were populated (by the way Office 365 should be setup using English...) so I'm stuck.  Any suggestions!?

Edit: I just tried setting up a new Office 365 account and I'm getting the same error trying to connect to that one??  Internet is just fine on that machine as it just did a ton of updates.

  • Same issue here - Brand new Office 365 an Server 2012 Essentials R2 install.  I'm able to get the integration to proceed on a 2012 Essentials (Non-R2) install, so this seems to clearly be an Essentials 2012 R2 issue.

  • Hi Aveamantium1,

Sorry for inconvenience, could you please try:

    1. Install the new SharePoint SDK http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/1/9/E1987F6C-4D0A-4918-AEFE-12105B59FF6A/sharepointclientcomponents_x64.msi manually.

    2. Integrate with O365 in dashboard.

We found that sharepoint SDK package changed download url yesteday and it may relate to your issue. We are working on the fix now.

Edit: This problem has been fixed. Please ignore the above workaround. Thanks

  • Thanks Pan,

I can give this a try but I prefer to wait until the the official fix is released (no hurry on the server, just setting it up now to go live in a month or two).  This way I can test your official fix...  Can you please just respond to this thread when you have the official fix released?

    Thanks!

    Aaron

  • Hi Pan,

this worked for me on a German installation of Server 2012 R2 Essentials with German O365 after spending some time on language settings.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Ok that worked but two problems with integration...  The distribution groups do not populate with them members and second, after a reboot the association with user and microsoft online account is lost?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Edit: Never mind, looks like Windows Update fixed this problem...  Thanks Again!
