IAG 2007 with Windows 7 and telnet RRS feed

  • Question

  • A couple of our suppliers have upgraded to Windows 7 64bit and are reporting issues with running Telnet apps through our IAG.

They have installed the telnet program on their client PC's already.

An error saying that "The application telnet could not be laucnched on your computer, please verify that the required client application is correctly installed."

It works fine on XP machines. Is the telnet app within IAG incompatible with Windows 7? And is there any alternative?

  • Hi Amig@. Only 32 bits applications are supported with 64 bits operating systems (make sure you have the latest service pack and update installed in IAG). Try to copy a 32 bit telnet executable to the syswow64 folder in the Windows 7 clients

    Hope it helps

  • Hey there, thanks for info,

Copying the telnet.exe file to SysWOW64 does not allow me to start telnet even manually outwith the IAG.

All im really after is a way to connect through IAG 2007 to an internal IP address using telnet from a 64bit client PC. Are there any alternatives?
