Backing up CentOS Guest Server on Hyper V RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have just installed Centos on one of our hyper v servers as a guest OS. We now need to back it up.  What options do we have to back it up? Can i do a snapshot of it? Also we are using DPM 2007 as our backup software. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you,
    DC

  • Hi,

The VM will need to be backed up in a "saved state" versus on-line backup. Only Windows operating systems that suppprt VSS snapshots can be backed up in an online state.
