  • Hello there,

I understand the situation that but as far as i know , if you want to someone to create a New user, they should have the Manage uers & groups permissions which will allow them the view/update user data.

As a process, only administartors/resource Managers should be having the permissions to create a new user but if you need project managers to be able to do the similar action, they need mange users and groups permission. You may think to either change the process based on organization needs or a custom application which PM's can use to create a new user.

May be others have some ideas to meet this requirement.

  • Hi there,

There is a difference in users & resource in project server. the permission, you have provided is "New Resource" which  allows a project manager to add new resources to the Enterprise Resource Pool using Microsoft Project Professional, the Project Web App Resource Center, or the Project Server Interface (PSI). Grant this permission to any member of your organization who has to create new enterprise resources in Project Server. A resource will not require the "User Authentication" but for a user , account must have the windows NT account.

If you provide the "Manage Users and Groups" permission, it allows a user (In your case a Project manager )to access the Manage Users and Groups page in the Server Settings page in Project Web App. Users with this permission will be able to add, modify, or delete Project Server users and manage Project Server security groups. Grant this permission to members of your organization who are Project Server administrators. Only a small group of people should have permission to access this set of pages.

  • Sir

By giving mange users and groups permission project managers are able to see the entire list of users and resources list which the administrator can see and he is also able to add delete or edit the details of users which i dont want

I only want the project managers have the permission to create a new user with windows authentication login permission for that newly created user and that user has to be seen in the list of his login resource center list....

    Is there any way??
