I can't access the owa from the internet. I only can access to the first page of certified RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello there. I can't access the owa from the internet. Only to the certificate page.

    -I have exchange 2010, windows 2008R2
-I can access from my internal network.
-I already open the port 80 and 443 in my firewall

    1. When I'm outside of my internal network. I write in the internet explorer: https://mydomain.com/owa
    2. I enter to the page that says: There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
    3. I Choose "Continue to this website (not recommended)
    4. I received the error http 404

    Thanks in advance.

  • So does https://mydomain.com/owa go to your Exchange server?  Most places have a hostname like "webmail" in front of the domain instead of using the default hostname.

When you're inside your network, and you finally get a connection, what is the URL that shows in your browser?  Is it still https://mydomain.com/ followed by something else, or has it redirected to another hostname?

  • I'm Sorry , the correct format is https://hostname.mydomain.net/owa. And the url that shows in the browser is the same again.

  • Are you publishing Exchange with any reverse proxy web publishing device, like TMG Server?

Is howtname.mydomain.net entered in Internet DNS?  That would be unusual if hostname is indeed the hostname.  Usually a CNAME like webmail or owa is used, and it points to the Exchange server.

  • Hi Luismendeze,

We need add the DNS Server point to Exchange Server (MX record and A record).

If we have not DNS Server also add hosts instead of it.

For the certificate, we can check if the certificate is applied correct in IIS of Exchange CAS Server first.

If it is incorrect, so chose the correct. Else, we need to reinstall certificate for the CAS Server.

You can refer to the following link to install certificate:
