Password Policy is not working

    Question

  • Hi,

    we are trying to implement Pasword Policy on our clients.

    it is windows 2008 active directory environment.

    we changed Password policy settings on Default domain policy.

    we disabled complexity setting and all the others.

    we checked client with RSOP and confirmed that setting is updated on client.

    but still when we try to change password on client, it warns as

    The password does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password legth, password complexity and password history requirements."

    Any idea.

  • Maybe you can try to make a group policy result with the wizzard in Group Policy editor. You can see if any policy give this kind of settings you don't want.

    You MUST do this verification through RSoP on the PDC emulator - that's
    the only computer in the whole domain that will apply password policies
    from the DDP to domain accounts...

  • Hi Martin;

    I verified computer settings with RSoP from domain controller.

    settings seem correct and source GPO seems correct on RSoP report for the corresponding client.
