RRAS Configuration VPN and routing problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • For my case, settings are below:

1 VM domain control with 2 Network card, installed RRAS and using SSTP to build a VPN server.

I have tried to use client PC to connect this DC. I can ping DC ip address but i can't ping neighbor Servers.

Any service need to add or configure?

  • Hi,

According to your description, my understanding is that the client can’t ping neighbor servers.

It is not recommended to install RRAS on DC and configured it as an VPN server. If your DC also worked as DNS server, multihomed server may result in DNS  works improperly.  Besides, one of the interface should connect to external network as an VPN server, this may lead more problem about security of DC.

Reference the link below for detailed information about “SSTP Remote Access Step-by-Step Guide: Deployment”:

The problem you can’t ping neighbor servers. Have you tried ping the IP address instead of computer name? what is the error message?

Besides, I am wondering  what does the “neighbor Servers” exactly mean? Other servers in the domain Or some specific server?

It would be helpful if you could provide the network topology.

    Best Regards,
