Print spooler problem in XP RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have tried these options, going to system, but could not find service tab.  When I looked earlier today print spooler was on.  I have tried the options offered but nothing has helped.  Everything was printing fine until last week.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • What options?  Were you logged on with administrative privileges when you tried?

    I have had reasonable luck restarting the spool by running the following bat file from an administrator account:

    @echo off
    net stop "print spooler"
    ping localhost -n 4 > nul
    del /q "%SystemRoot%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.*"
    net start "print spooler"
    ping localhost -n 5 > nul
    pause
