Deploy updates to Windows server 2003

Question
-
Hi,
We are using WSUS to deploy windows updates to ours servers, the servers 2003 are connected to WSUS without any problem but we do not have an option to check how many updates are pending or have to install, we just have to wait to the server notification and then run the updates (this option --> Check updates, exist in windows server 2008, 2012).
How could we force these updates check?
Thanks a lot

The methodologies for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are different than they are for newer operating systems. Normally the conversation is about how the newer operating systems are different from the old. I must say, I'm quite intrigued that nobody there is familiar with how to manage updates on an 11 year old operating system. How have these machines been getting patched for the past ten years?
Is there some reason you're not using the **WSUS CONSOLE** to obtain this information???

Your observation is correct, there is no *GUI* on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 systems that provides this capability.
The WUAUCLT.EXE utility works on WinXP/WS2003 just like it does on every other system.
