Meeting rooms get double booked regardless of settings RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Exchange 2007 SP2. I have a resource mailbox that is a meeting room that continuously gets double booked. This room is not configured to allow conflicts, yet it allows people to book it even when it is already booked for the time/date requested. It is also set to AutoAccept (see below). What gives?

  • Hi,

Double booking can only be prevented if for every scheduled meeting invite, the related resource mailbox is also invited. Plus from outlook clients, this need to be made sure that in the Location field, to-be-booked-room is selected from Address Book and not manually entered. So please check.

From the output, the AutomateProcessing feature is set to AutoUpdate, which seems to be right. So, my suggestion is to try to run the following command again and check:

    Set-MailboxCalendarSettings -Identity <ConferenceRoomAlias> -AutomateProcessing AutoAccept

If it doesn’t work, please let us know.

    Thanks

  • Are users booking directly into the conference room, i.e., just creating an appointment in the conference room calendar rather than inviting it to the meeting?  That method will bypass duplicate checking.  Check rights on the mailbox and folders to ensure that users can't do that.
