HI everyone, I just decided to learn SQL, I am completelly green, no doubt. I checked some utube videos, where people were using Microsoft visual studio, then Oracle express edition. As I understand (may be wrong) both are used to write queries, if so, which
one shall i get (buy, dawnload, whatever) what do i need Microsoft SQL server 2012 for?
In order to train on database I need a database. Is there any way I can put my hands on some simple databases which would give me a perfect playground?
Finally working on orackle or Visuall studio is one aspect of SQL when managing server is completelly different think. Which one shall I pursue?
If someone can shed some light, give a tip, anything just to let me move in the right direction.
SQL Server Express is free, easy-to-use, lightweight, and embeddable version. You can download
SQL Server Express 2012 from the Microsoft official website. If you download and install Express with Advanced Services, this package contains all the components of SQL Express, such as the database engine, Express Tools, Reporting Services, and Full Text
In addition, if you want to own simple database in SQL Server, I recommend you download AdventureWorks database, which can be installed by attaching the database, or using the CREATE DATABASE statement. For more information, see:
There is an article about hardware and software requirements for installing SQL Server 2012, you can review it.
