S4B onsite unable to join meeting RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have S4B running internal on my network.  Users can login, IM works, direct video calls work and via Outlook i can schedule a Skype meeting.  However no one can join the meeting.  Even if I connect via the web page and sign in it gives me a 404 error.  When I try to join on link in outlook the Skype client says "we can not find this meeting".

Am I missing something?  Been searching this issue for a couple of days now.

    Thanks,

  • All are running and show users as 0.

However, i got it working.  Gave the FE server a kick and rebooted it. Now it seems to be just fine.

Been doing this since NT 3.51 and I forgot rule number 1, reboot.  Ugh :)

    Thanks for the help!

  • Look at topology builder under the Front end and check if you've defined the internal web service FQDN and if resolves in dns for your internal clients.

  • Also make sure you've applied the Skype for Business Server CU and followed the steps outlined in: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3061064

  • Check whether we have got the necessary permission for joining meetings( Conference Policy need to be checked from the Lync control panel and applied to the user so that he will get the option to join and share in the meeting) . From the Lync client , we can create adhoc meetings using MeetNow option , try that -- ToolsMenu--> Meetnow ( Thhis is similar  to the meeting that you create in Outlook).

  • All services appear to be defined.  I have only the default "global" conferencing policy and it is applied.  Everything says it is enabled.   In the S4B client I do not have the meet now option.  DNS queires fine with my client being able to resolve all DNS entries.

I think somewhere it is a permissions thing since it tries to create meet.mycomp.com/myusername/randomid and cant.  This is just a single consolidated FE standard server.  This is last internal piece i need to get working...then i get to move to external access ;)

  • Can you verify from the Topology , click on the pool name and on the right pane do you see Conferencung Enabled? If not you need to edit the topology enable this feature and publish the topology again.

  • Can you run the command  Get-CswindowsService from the Skype for Business Powershell and check if you have the following services running.

    RTCIMMCU

    RTCDATAMCU

    RTCAVMCU

If you find them  missing you need to check Programs and Features - Conferencing Server - repair/ reinstall the component.
