Installing SharePoint 2013 on Server 2012 R2- IIS errors

Are there know issues with installing SharePoint 2013 on server 2012 R2?

I can see, reset and open IIS 8 on the server but it is not listed under the services console.

I am getting errors at prerequisite installer -"unable to install application server role. Web Server (IIS) role."

Is there an incompatibility or a workaround?

please advise

SharePoint 2013 does not support Windows Server 2012 R2. It will support it with the release of SP1 for SharePoint 2013.

See http://www.avivroth.com/2013/07/09/installing-sharepoint-2013-on-windows-server-2012-r2-preview/ for how to work around this, but it is unsupported. Do not use this in a production environment.
