Outlook 2016 connection issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

I have one user who is using Windows  10 PRO on a domain and having issues with Outlook 2016 connection to server. Her Network connection seems to be working just fine as she can browse the internet and so forth, but She keeps getting a yellow exclamation mark off and on throughout the day on her Outlook 2016 that says cannot connect to server. I've created a new profile to see if that has done the trick but it hasn't.  Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you!!

  • Hi Shauna,

What's your email account type used in Outlook 2016? Exchange server account or IMAP/POP account?

If you are using Exchange account, please run the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration tool in Outlook when the issue occurs to check the autodiscover service which is used for Exchange connections:

Open Outlook - press CTRL key - right click on the Outlook icon from right bottom corner taskbar - Test Email AutoConfiguration. Put your email address - uncheck use guessmart and secure guessmart authentication - click Test to check your Autodiscover service.

Collect the tool results here with the Log information.
