Subsites not visible RRS feed

  • Question

  • Sub sites are not visible in the navigation. For some users it is visible but for some it is not. When i tried to open the subsites by url it is working but otherwise subsites are not visible. Can u provide a solution? Moreover the permission levels for both users are same.

  • Hi Shubham,

If the users could access the subsites, they should see them in the navigation.

Please check if you are using a custom master page for the site collection.

And also check if there are some custom code in your master page or some solutions deployed in the site collection.

In addition, please create a new site collection, and test again, check if this issue occurs. If this issue doesn't occur on the new site collection, you can try to backup the problematic site collection and restore it to the new site collection to check if it works.

    Thanks,

    Wendy

  • Make sure that users who cannot see the links are able to access those sites as SharePoint navigation are security trimmed and users will not be able to access unless the users have access to them.

  • There must be an option in Site Settings -> Look and feel.

    • Go here and check if the Show sub-sites option is enabled.
    • Or you can also manually add the sites using the interface boxes available here.

Be sure to make this checked in Current navigations to list all sub sites under this site.

The subsites will be only visible to those who have access to read them.

If you are using master page make sure you inherit in your master page with the default styles of SharePoint so that it is automatically updating.
